The Solutient business model integrates hazard mitigation, custom software solutions and geographic information systems. Our mission is to present the full spectrum of services governments require to address planning, mitigation and recovery relating to devastation caused by natural phenomena. Chief among these natural disasters are flooding and hurricane events. The decision to integrate mitigation expertise, IT, and GIS is the culmination of the evolution of the firm that began shortly after the turn of the century. The Solutient Corporation was founded in 1983 as an IT training and custom software development firm, serving local and regional government. By the end of the century Solutient had evolved into an IT services company, specializing in designing and delivering enterprise business software, web based internet and intranet applications, web-based content management solutions, and custom software for industries including insurance, maritime and healthcare. The addition of a GIS capability in 2002, and multiple engagements in mitigation and recovery led the firm to expand its hazard mitigation capacity without affecting the core IT competency developed in the first two decades of the life of the firm. In 2004 Solutient acquired a Cleveland IT firm that has been re-named Solutient of Ohio, Inc. The Ohio offices provide Microsoft Gold status in training and business solutions. The resources of the two offices enable Solutient to deliver an impressive set of consulting and product services.
