National Leader in Mitigation and RecoveryThe Solutient Corporation is a national leader in hazard mitigation, providing the full spectrum of services to state and local government. The delivery of hazard mitigation services is supported by divisions of IT software and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applications. If you're looking for more information on our IT Group, please click here. The firm's primary focus is the management of mitigation and recovery programs for states and local governments. Central to this mission is the replacement of families in their homes, after catastrophic damage from hurricanes, flooding and other natural hazards. Solutient is on a course to reach more than 1000 homes by the end of 2010, an effort requiring more than $200 million dollars in FEMA and HUD funding. These statistics dwarf the efforts of any state or local government, or any private consultant. To support these initiatives Solutient's software division has designed and written unique tracking software called M3. M3 enables Solutient's mitigation and recovery teams to evaluate thousands of properties, select those appropriate for mitigation, and manage the process from the development of grant applications to construction closeout. M3 is just one of hundreds of custom applications Solutient's software division has written since 1983. Further support for mitigation and recovery teams is provided by the firm's GIS unit. Since 2003 Solutient has mapped and linked every severe repetitive loss (SRL) property in the six states of Region VI of FEMA. Solutient's association with FEMA will continue into 2010. Solutient is a technology source for mitigation planners, providing state of the art GIS maps for senior planning consultants in engagements around the United States. The need for mitigation and recovery expertise, whether it be the management of home elevations and reconstructions, public building flood mitigations, or flood mitigation planning, will only increase in the decade beginning in 2010, and Solutient will be there to provide mitigation management expertise, software to support these efforts, and GIS mapping to document damaged parcels and mitigated properties.
