Solutient Submits Grant Application on behalf of Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government (TPCG) Solutient successfully submitted TPCG HMGP 2009 – Gustav on behalf of Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government (TPCG) to the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP) on 10/2/2009. Upon review and approval by GOHSEP, the grant application will pass to FEMA for review and approval. Once approved and funded, this grant would award $10.4 million to Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government (TPCG) to mitigate 46 homes against future flood hazards. Solutient has an excellent track record for submitting grant applications that are approved for funding, and we expect this application to follow suit. October 1, 2009Solutient renews Texas Repetitive Loss contract with FEMA Region VI Solutient and the University of New Orleans CHART program have renewed a contract with FEMA Region VI to provide a web-enabled mapping portal and other GIS services to support analysis of repetitively flooded neighborhoods in Texas.
FEMA Has Approved and Awarded $11.9 Million for Solutient Managed Mitigation of 74 Homes for Jefferson Parish Solutient is notified that on 9/24/2009 FEMA has approved and awarded $11.9 million for Jefferson Parish to mitigate 74 homes. As we enter into the grant administration phase ready to assist the homeowners in bringing their mitigation projects into construction, we have a sense of satisfaction and pride in yet another successfully developed grant application. Moving forward we will work with our 74 homeowners and their contractors to guide them through the process of getting homes elevated in a timely manner and within grant guidelines.
Solutient Submits Grant Application on behalf of Orleans Parish Solutient successfully submitted SRL 2009-II on behalf of Orleans Parish to the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP) on 9/21/2009. Once approved and funded, this grant would award $2.2 million to Orleans Parish to mitigate 10 homes against future flood hazards. Solutient has an excellent track record for submitting grant applications that are approved for funding, and we expect this application to follow suit.

Solutient is Selected as Newcomer of the Year for the North American Region by the EC-Council
Ernest Campbell, Director of Security Training for Solutient of Ohio announced today the firm is the recipient of the prestigious North American Newcomer Award by the EC-Council. This international body provides and administers security training certifications worldwide. To win this award Solutient competed against hundreds of other security training firms throughout the United states and Canada.
The Awards will be presented at the Hacker Halted USA 2009, a complete and comprehensive information security conference, which will be held from September 23 - 25, in Miami, Florida. Solutient teaches security courses throughout the north central United States, including Cleveland, Cincinnati, Chicago and Charleston, West Virginia. Mr. Campbell teaches at the North American conference each year, and in 2009 was nominated for Instructor of the Year.

Upon review and approval by GOHSEP, the grant application will pass to FEMA for review and approval. Once approved and funded, this grant would award $7,709,744 to Jefferson Parish to mitigate 48 homes against future flood hazards. Solutient has an excellent track record for submitting grant applications that are approved for funding, and we expect this application to follow suit.

Jefferson Parish/Solutient Receive $25M in SRL Grant Funding On August 21, 2009, Jefferson Parish was presented with $25,426,573 in grant funding for the mitigation of 151 Severe Repetitive Loss (SRL) properties. Solutient staff members have worked closely with Parish officials, GOHSEP and FEMA since July of 2008 to facilitate the approval of the first major grant award under the SRL Pilot Program. Intended to reduce future flood losses through elevation or mitigation reconstruction, the SRL Program Grant award is a major success in Jefferson Parish's effort to create a better quality of life for its residents. Solutient Wins RFP for Grant Application Devlopment from Terrebonne Parish Solutient is awarded a contract to perform the grant application development work put out to bid by Terrebonne Parish. The application development work will include performing Benefit-Cost analyses, using GIS data to produce project maps, data collection and processing, and homeowner outreach activities. Our past successes in grant application development have yielded millions of dollars in Federal grant funds being awarded to various communities and we expect this opportunity to yield identical results.

Solutient is pleased to announce our partnership with Directions Training of Chicago, Illinois to conduct Ethical Hacking and Computer Forensics Training in the greater Chicago area. With Directions three Chicago locations and Washington, D.C. presence, we anticipate a very successful partnership through which we will be able to provide state-of-the-art technology training in the high-demand areas of Ethical Hacking and Countermeasures as well as Computer Forensics. Using EC-Council Official Curriculum, students who have successfully completed these courses will have the opportunity to test for their CEH and CHFI certifications.

Solutient Signs Grant Management Contract with Orleans Parish
Solutient has signed a contract with Orleans Parish to manage the preparation and submission of grant applications for the Severe Repetitive Loss program for funding years 2008 and 2009, as well as the management of the grant funds and implementation of the mitigation projects once funding is awarded. Phase I was completed on November 19, 2008 when Solutient filed an elevation grant application with GOHSEP on behalf of Orleans Parish. Phase II, managing the grant funds and working with homeowners to get their homes elevated, will begin once FEMA awards funding.
Southeast Louisiana Flood Protection Authority West Bank Solutient is proud to announce that we have been awarded the contract to completely overhaul the Southeast Louisiana Flood Protection Authority West Bank’s public website and intranet sites. SLFPAW currently uses a web platform for sharing news and documents amongst board members and staff, and also with the public. Solutient has been chosen to give these sites a new, modern look and feel using the latest in web platform technology. Additionally the new sites will be using Solutient’s easy-to-use WebCMS website administration tool, which allows easy real-time web page editing from a WYSIWYG-style editing tool. National Award Received for Flood Mitigation Work The Center for Hazards Assessment, Response & Technology at the University of New Orleans (UNO-CHART) and FEMA Region VI were recently awarded the John R. Sheaffer Award for Excellence in Floodproofing by the Association of State Floodplain Managers (ASFPM). Solutient provides GIS analysis, data research, and custom web development to support CHART’s outreach, which seeks to educate homeowners on floodproofing options. Accepting the award for UNO-CHART was Sarah Stack, along with Ross Richardson of FEMA Region VI. Dale Kirby, Director of IT (2nd from left) and Michael Wesley, Director of GIS (far right) represented Solutient at the ceremony recently held at the annual ASFPM conference in Reno, Nevada. The award was presented by Al Goodman, Chairman of the ASFPM (far left) and ASFPM Executive Director Larry Larson (2nd from right). Solutient developed and maintains the floodhelp.uno.edu project website that provides how-to information to homeowners seeking to floodproof their homes, and online mapping and database search capabilities for community officials to help them identify problem areas and potential solutions.
Solutient is Awarded Grant Management Contract with Jefferson Parish Solutient has been selected by Jefferson Parish, LA to provide program management services to assist the Parish in grant relationships with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Governor's Office of Homeland Security/Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP) in conjunction with the FEMA Severe Repetitive Loss pilot program. Jefferson Parish has been allocated $22.6 Million for this program.
