Solutient has long been known for its architectural and database skills. In 2003 and 2004 the firm applied these skills to constructing one of the country's largest electoral initiatives. The Republican National Committee (RNC) retained Solutient to create a plan by which the electoral information of all 50 states could be integrated into a warehouse of interactive data. Information had been collected for over a decade on the voting habits of Americans, and this data was being stored on a multiplicity of computers and operating systems. Solutient was asked to find a way to house the information in a way that would allow for a single architecture to capture all the data.
For 20 years Solutient had been helping local officials and candidates, Democrats and Republicans, create walk lists and telephone bank lists, as well as a range of special reports. The request from the RNC dwarfed all previous technology employed on behalf of electoral candidates. This request marked the first time Solutient was asked to adapt its architecture and database talents to the electoral world. Solutient worked with the RNC for almost six months, during which time the basis for the warehouse was crafted and the requirements for the database were developed and elaborated. Simultaneously, under the creative direction of NMC, Solutient was asked to support the bulk of the Bush-Cheney web site. The award winning site rotated information daily, used multiple data sources, and frequently changed its look as the 2004 campaign evolved. Members of Solutient's Cleveland and New Orleans offices put in exceptionally long hours in order to fulfill the textual objectives of the campaign. In this manner Solutient applied sophisticated web programming, SQL database design and system architecture to enhance the electoral goals of the RNC and the Bush-Cheney campaign.
